Follow the lobby, role selection, round objective and first escape route with reviewed gameplay screens.
What to do first
During intermission, check AFK and your selected role. Once the round starts, read the objective, locate your ability bar and choose an exit before engaging.
§1. Prepare during intermission#
The lobby footage shows an intermission timer and left-side Heroes, Spectate, Store, Cosmetics and AFK controls. Finish menu choices while the timer is visible; close the panel so the next round’s action bar is readable.
The creator announcement says AFK players are excluded from role selection and rounds. Three minutes without input also turns AFK on automatically. If you keep missing selection, check AFK first.
§2. Read the role and round HUD#
The top HUD identifies remaining players, a timer and the opposing boss health bar. SURVIVE appears in hero footage, FIND THEM in Hulk footage, and TAKE HIM DOWN in the Ultron encounter. Follow the instruction shown for your round.
Keep two checks separate: your own health and the boss bar. Seeing a full boss bar does not tell you your character is safe. Look at your character panel and the immediate route before attacking.
§3. Make one attack and preserve an exit#
In the rooftop footage, doorways connect the outside fighting area with interior corridors and stairs. Before attacking, choose which door or open lane you will use if the boss approaches.
For a first attempt, learn one available action, use it when the boss is occupied, then reposition. This is a conservative learning plan. It makes no promise that a wall, roof or doorway is a permanent safe spot.

§4. Understand hero turns#
The creator’s Doctor Strange announcement says heroes take turns and the player who has waited longest is selected first. An equipped hero and an immediate hero turn are different states.
If a hero is equipped but you have not been selected, remain active, check AFK and read the next round’s selection. Repeated purchases are unnecessary for diagnosing a queue or AFK issue.

Why am I not being picked?
Check AFK first. The official announcement says inactive players are excluded, and heroes use a longest-waiting-first rotation. Exact current queue internals are unverified.
